London is the capital of the United Kingdom, largest city in Europe and home to about seven million people, London is the hub of British business and government. Founded by the Romans in 43 AD as a centre for trade with the rest of Europe, London is an exciting, bustling city. Every year thousands of visitors visit its historic buildings, museums, galleries and shops, and ride on international double-decker buses. It is rich in tourism resources.

The city of London is known for many important movements in History of London, such as the English renaissance, the Industrial Revolution, and the Gothic Revival. Most of the people are Christians; it is obviously proved from the large number of churches, chapels and cathedrals. Islam is London’s largest and most significant minority religion. London has the large number of Muslim converts in the western world. It also has high number of restaurants that serve halal food. Hindu temple at Neasden was the largest temple of Hinduism in Europe.

Although the largest religion are Christian (58.2%), there are also some other religions reside over here. They are no religion (15.8%), Muslim (7.2%), Hindu (4.1%), Jewish (2.1%) and Sikhs (1.5%).

London is so great for its arts, music, festivals, and museums and like. The city has five profession symphony orchestras to enlighten the society. London celebrates several festivals, fairs and carnivals throughout the year. There are over 240 museums in this fabulous city. The most important are the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Science Museum, the Imperial War Museum. London lies with a various theatres to amuse the London people and visitors.

The city of London is an inspiration for other cities in the world especially Mumbai (Bombay). Mumbai has an infrastructure and transport system as designed on London. There are streets in Mumbai which holds the same name as streets in London. Dominated by glossy office buildings, the city of London is one of the world’s leading financial centers. Situated strategically between Tokyo and New York City, more currency changes hands here than in any other city.

There are very few cities in the world where people can order breakfast in Farsi, book a taxi in Urdu, ask for afternoon coffee in Arabic and spend the evening chatting with pals in Cantons. But all this – and more- can be done in London. There are over 300 languages are regularly spoken over the city. It is also known as the multilingual capital of the world. Thus, it was a major attraction for companies operating with in the global market.

The climate of the London is temperate marine. The average temperature during summer is 13.6 degree Celsius to 22.8 degree Celsius and the average temperature during winter is 2.4 degree Celsius to 7.9 degree Celsius. The city hosts several rivers, canals, lakes and hills which add more gorgeous

London is the leading global education centre with students from all over the world. The University of London is one of the largest universities in Europe. It also includes various universities, colleges, public and independent schools. It is also stand still for its banking and insurance institutions and some fabulous landmarks for instance the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and much more.
